| Must-book | Nonna's Ristorante, Cuvee 30A, Sandos Beachside |
The Split You Need to Understand
Destin's restaurant scene runs on two tracks and the new 2026 openings landed almost perfectly on either side of the line.
Track one is HarborWalk Village and the Emerald Coast Parkway corridor, built for volume and visitors. Track two is the neighborhood spots inland and off the main drag where the people who live here eat.
For a bachelor party you want both, on different nights. HarborWalk on the night everyone is loud and just came off a boat, neighborhood on the night the group wants an actual meal.
The New Openings Worth Your Reservation
Nonna's Ristorante
Best for: The one sit-down dinner your group agrees on | Price: $35 to $70 pp
Chef Tim Creehan's newest concept, an Italian room at HarborWalk Village overlooking the harbor. Handmade pasta, pizzas, and a Mediterranean-leaning menu that is a genuine step up from the fried-basket standard at that end of the harbor.
Creehan is the closest thing the Emerald Coast has to a name chef, which is the reason this one is worth booking rather than walking into.
Order this: The handmade pasta is the point. Get a few pizzas to the middle of the table for the guys who were never going to order pasta.
Nonna's, but for large groups
Best for: Locking a table for 12 or more | Price: Same as above
Reservations through OpenTable handle parties up to a point, but a group over 10 should call the restaurant directly. HarborWalk on a Saturday in summer is not a place you improvise a table for fourteen.
Order this: Ask about a set menu when you call. A fixed per-person price is the single easiest way to avoid the check-splitting argument at the end of the night.
Cuvee 30A
Best for: The nicest meal of the weekend | Price: $55 to $90 pp
Creehan's other room, at 30Avenue near Rosemary Beach, and the more upscale of the two. Casual fine dining with a wine program deeper than anything else in the immediate area.
If your group is staying on 30A rather than in Destin proper, this is the reservation to make first. It is a 25 to 30 minute drive from Destin, which is fine for one night and annoying for two.
Order this: Whatever the Gulf catch is that night, plus a bottle from the list. This is the meal where somebody should buy the group a real bottle of wine.
Sandos Beachside
Best for: Getting away from the tourist corridor | Price: $25 to $50 pp
Opened at 36 Terra Cotta Way in March 2026 with a menu pulling from Gulf seafood and Caribbean coastal flavors. It sits in a residential pocket rather than on the HarborWalk strip.
This is the Saturday-lunch or quieter-Sunday-dinner pick. Smaller room, so call ahead for anything over eight.
Order this: Lean into the Caribbean side of the menu. It is the reason to come here instead of a fifth grouper sandwich.
Mimmo's 30A
Best for: A casual group dinner on the 30A side | Price: $25 to $45 pp
A new Blue Mountain Beach outpost of the Destin-based Sicilian spot. Same kitchen, shorter drive if your rental is anywhere between Grayton and Alys.
Good default for the night nobody planned. Pizza and pasta, no dress code, no ceremony.
Order this: Order pizzas to share rather than entrees for a group of ten or more. Faster out of the kitchen and a third the cost.
Scout Sports Tavern
Best for: A game day, or the night before the boat | Price: $20 to $40 pp
A newer Watersound tavern from Quest Hospitality Concepts, the group behind Fonville Press and The Citizen in Alys Beach. That pedigree matters: it is a sports tavern built by people who normally do more polished rooms.
If your bachelor weekend overlaps a college football Saturday, this solves the problem of finding fourteen seats with a view of a screen.
Order this: Bar food, several rounds, and a tab opened under one name at the start.
Nanbu Noodle Bar
Best for: The recovery meal | Price: $18 to $32 pp
Not a 2026 opening, but the Grayton Beach ramen and poke spot remains the most useful restaurant on 30A for a bachelor party. Ramen the morning after a boat day does more for a group than any brunch.
Order this: A bowl of ramen and a poke bowl to split. Cheap, fast, and the only thing anyone wants at noon on Sunday.
Planning Tips
- Reserve the one real dinner as soon as you book the house. Destin and 30A restaurants fill six to eight weeks out for summer Saturdays.
- Anything over 10 people gets called, not booked online. Most of these rooms are small and their online systems cap group size well below what they can actually seat.
- Ask for a set menu for large groups. It caps the cost, speeds up service, and eliminates the split-check problem.
- Build in drive time. Destin to Rosemary Beach is 25 to 35 minutes and worse in July traffic on 98. Do not book an 8 p.m. reservation on 30A after a 5 p.m. boat return in Destin.
- Peak season is June through early August. Late April, May, September, and October give you the same weather with reservations you can actually get.
- Most of these places do not have a dress code, but Cuvee 30A is the one where your group should not show up in swim trunks.
