Why Destin and 30A
The Emerald Coast is the bachelorette move when your group wants beach and boat days, not a Broadway crawl. Destin gives you a working harbor, party-boat energy, and Crab Island. 30A gives you 24 miles of boutique beach towns where the dress code is "white linen and a sun hat."
The two regions sit about 25 minutes apart and most groups split time between them. We have built this 3-day plan to do exactly that.
Where to Stay
For groups of 8 to 14, rent a house in Seacrest Beach, Rosemary Beach, or Miramar Beach. Look on VRBO for places with a private pool, a golf cart included, and "beach access" in the listing.
For smaller groups (4 to 6), the Henderson Park Inn is adults-only and right on the beach in Destin. Pricier per night but you skip the rental coordination.
Day 1: Arrive and Settle In
Afternoon
Most groups fly into VPS (Destin Fort Walton) which is the closest airport. Pensacola (PNS) is the backup. Both are about 30 minutes from your rental.
Pick up a grocery run on the way in. Hit Publix in Miramar Beach. The bachelorette house essentials: champagne for tomorrow morning, mixers, snacks, and at least 50% more bottled water than you think you need.
Evening
For the first dinner, book Boshamps Seafood and Oyster House in Destin. It is on the harbor, the food is genuinely good, and the deck setup handles big groups. Order the Gulf shrimp and grits ($28) and a tower of oysters for the table.
After dinner, walk to HarborWalk Village. Live music, frozen drinks, and people-watching. Get back to the house early because tomorrow is the big day.
"Boshamps was the best meal of our trip. Got us seated at a long table on the back deck and the bride got a free dessert. Felt thought-of." Google Review
Day 2: Crab Island
This is the centerpiece of any Destin bachelorette weekend.
Morning
Crab Island is a natural sandbar a mile or two off the Destin coast. The water is two to four feet deep and turns into a floating party in season (May through September) with hundreds of boats anchored together.
Book a private pontoon early. Try Crab Island Adventures or Crab Island Cruises. A 24-foot pontoon for the day runs $700 to $1,200 depending on season, plus gas and a captain tip. Split across the group it lands at $80 to $130 each.
Bring: floats (the bride deserves a giant inflatable), a Bluetooth speaker, sunscreen, snacks, and one designated cooler captain.
Afternoon
Anchor at Crab Island around 11 a.m. Most pontoons offer a half-day or full-day option. The full day is worth it.
Food and drink boats motor out to the sandbar. The hot dog boat, the taco boat, and the floating bar are all real and they take cards.
Evening
Back at the dock around 4 or 5 p.m. Shower. Nap if needed.
For dinner, drive to Rosemary Beach and book Pescado. It is on the rooftop, the sunset view across 30A is the best in the region, and the seafood is phenomenal. Reserve four to six weeks out for any Saturday in season.
Order this: Local snapper crudo ($24), the wood-grilled redfish ($52), and the Pescado Spritz
Day 3: 30A Slow Day
Morning
Bachelorette house brunch with what you bought at Publix, plus a coffee and pastry run to Black Bear Bread Co. They have multiple locations along 30A and the morning buns are worth setting an alarm for.
Afternoon
Drive 30A. Park in Seaside and walk through the Airstream food trucks at Seaside Avenue. Stop in Alys Beach for the all-white architecture (great photos). Hit Rosemary Beach for the European vibe.
Beach time at whichever stretch is closest to your rental. Alternatively, book a beach setup ahead of time through your rental company so two umbrellas and four chairs are waiting at sunrise.
Evening
Sunset drinks at Bud and Alley''s rooftop in Seaside. They ring a bell at sundown.
For final-night dinner, choose between two moves. The Citizen in Alys Beach is upscale and quieter. Surfing Deer in Miramar Beach is louder and works better if your group still has fuel left.
"We did Pescado night two and Citizen night three and both were perfect. Citizen is calmer if your group is fading." Reddit

Planning Tips
- Book the Crab Island pontoon and Pescado as soon as your dates are locked, both sell out
- Rent a golf cart through your rental company in 30A, it is the actual transportation
- Bring matching swim coverups for the boat day, this is the photo
- Tip your pontoon captain 20%, they are the reason the day works
- Avoid Spring Break weeks (mid-March) unless you want college crowds
