Why This Neighborhood for a Bachelorette?
Wynwood gives you something South Beach does not: the feeling that you actually know Miami. The neighborhood is built around the Wynwood Walls, the world-famous outdoor mural museum, and the bars and restaurants that grew up around it are genuinely interesting. It is a neighborhood with a personality.
For a bachelorette group, the visual backdrop alone is worth the trip. Every block is a photo opportunity, the bars are more affordable than South Beach, and the crowd mixes locals with tourists in a way that makes the whole thing feel alive. Come in the late afternoon and stay until midnight.
Where to Eat
Coyo Taco
Coyo Taco is the quintessential Wynwood meal: excellent al pastor tacos ($4.50 each), a bar built entirely around tequila and mezcal, and a late-night DJ setup that makes it just as much a bar as a restaurant. Order the carnitas, the guac, and at least two margaritas per person. Budget $25 to $40 for the full spread.
It is open until 5am on weekends, which means it is also a legitimate late-night option after the rest of the neighborhood winds down.
"We did a bachelorette dinner here and it was perfect. Tacos are incredible, the mezcal list is serious, and somehow it was not even that loud at 8pm. Do the guac tableside." - Yelp Review
Kush Hospitality
The Kush burger ($18) is the best burger in Wynwood and it is not particularly close. The restaurant has a relaxed, art-covered interior and a craft beer list that pairs perfectly with a group pre-game. It is casual enough that you can come in matching bachelorette outfits without anyone batting an eye.
Kush also has one of the most reasonable price points in the neighborhood. Two people can eat and drink well for under $60.
"Best burger in Miami, full stop. I brought my whole bachelorette crew here for lunch before the Walls and we demolished the menu. The fried pickles alone are worth the trip." - Yelp Review
The Butcher Shop Beer Garden
The Butcher Shop is a European-style beer garden with long communal tables, a wood-fired grill, and a selection of craft beers that runs deep. It is the right spot for a low-key group dinner where everyone can order their own thing and the conversation can actually happen. Mains run $22 to $38.
The outdoor patio is massive and well-shaded, which matters a lot in Miami. Reserve a long table for your group in advance.
"This place has the best outdoor seating in Wynwood. We did a birthday dinner here and the staff set up the whole table with decorations we brought. Sausage and beer combination is perfect." - Yelp Review
Where to Drink
The Margot
The Margot is Wynwood's best rooftop bar and the kind of place that makes you feel like you found something. The views of the neighborhood murals from above are genuinely stunning at sunset, and the cocktail program is inventive without being precious. Cocktails run $16 to $22, and the bar gets packed by 9pm on weekends.
This is the spot for your group's best photos of the night. Come at 6:30pm for golden hour and a first round before it fills up completely.
Wynwood Brewing Company
Wynwood Brewing is the neighborhood's hometown brewery and a genuinely good one. The flagship Pop's Porter ($9) and the Wagon Wheels IPA ($9) are the moves, and the indoor/outdoor taproom is relaxed enough to accommodate a big group without a reservation. It is the perfect spot for a late-afternoon first drink before dinner.
The taproom dog situation is also excellent, which is a bonus if any member of your group cannot see a dog without losing her mind.
Gramps
Gramps is the neighborhood's beloved dive bar, and it is better than almost anywhere else in Miami for a group that wants to actually dance without paying a South Beach cover. The outdoor patio hosts DJs most nights, the drinks are cheap ($8 to $12), and the crowd is fun and unpretentious. There is usually no cover before 10pm.
If your group has any energy left after midnight, this is where the night ends. It is one of those bars that keeps going long after everywhere else has called last call.
Panther Coffee
Panther Coffee is not a bar, but it deserves a spot on this list as the best afternoon recharge stop in Wynwood. If you are doing the neighborhood as a full day-into-night experience, stop here around 4pm for a cortado ($5) before you start drinking. The flagship Wynwood location is stunning inside.
It is also the right move the morning after if your group is staying nearby and needs to process the previous night's decisions over excellent espresso.
What to Do
The Wynwood Walls are non-negotiable. General admission is $12 per person and includes access to the curated outdoor museum of murals by internationally recognized artists. The Walls are open until 11pm on weekends, which means you can do them at night, lit up, after dinner, which is honestly the best time.
Beyond the Walls, the surrounding blocks of NW 2nd Avenue are an open-air gallery. Walk north on 2nd Avenue from the Walls and you will find murals stretching for blocks in every direction. Budget an hour for wandering and stop whenever you want a photo.
For a structured group activity, several local companies offer guided street art tours of Wynwood. Art Districts runs 90-minute walking tours for around $30 per person that cover the history of the murals and take you to spots most visitors miss.
A Sample Night Out
Arrive in Wynwood around 4:30pm and start with a beer at Wynwood Brewing Company while the afternoon heat starts to break. Head to the Wynwood Walls around 5:30pm for golden hour photos. By 6:30pm, post up at The Margot rooftop for sunset cocktails and the best elevated view in the neighborhood. Walk to Coyo Taco for a 8pm dinner: tacos, margaritas, and guac until everyone is satisfied. Finish the night at Gramps, arrive around 10pm, grab the outdoor patio, and let the DJ do the rest. Coyo Taco is open until 5am if anyone needs a taco at 1am, which happens more often than you would think.
Getting Around
Wynwood is very walkable once you are there, but it does not connect well to the rest of Miami on foot. Uber or Lyft is the right call for getting in and out. Surge pricing can get aggressive after midnight on weekends, so either leave by 11:30pm or accept that the ride home will cost $35 to $50.
Pro Tips
- The Wynwood Walls are significantly less crowded on weekday evenings. If any part of your bachelorette trip overlaps with a Thursday or Sunday, visit then.
- Coyo Taco takes reservations for large groups through their website. Book a spot for dinner to avoid the walk-in wait, which can hit 45 minutes on Saturday nights.
- Wynwood has essentially no street parking on weekends and ride-share drop-off/pickup zones get congested. Walk half a block from the main drag to speed up your pickup.
- Many of the best murals in Wynwood are not inside the Walls. Walk NW 24th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenue for some of the most photographed pieces in the neighborhood.
