Why Scottsdale for a Bachelor Party
Scottsdale is built for this. You get pro-level golf, resort pool parties, desert adventures, and a walkable nightlife district all in one place, with reliable sun most of the year.
The one rule to know up front. Summer is brutally hot, often well over 100 degrees, so the sweet spot is spring or fall when the pool days are perfect and the golf is comfortable.
Golf
This is the anchor of most Scottsdale bachelor trips. The area has more than 200 courses, headlined by TPC Scottsdale, home of the rowdy WM Phoenix Open. Troon North is the other bucket-list desert course.
If your group is mixed on skill or just wants a casual day, book a few bays at Topgolf instead. It is the low-pressure, high-fun option with food and drinks built in.
Pool Parties and Day Clubs
The dayclub scene is half the reason groups come here. Maya Day and Nightclub in Old Town is the marquee pool party, and the W Scottsdale pool runs bottle service and a DJ on weekends.
Reserve a cabana or daybed ahead of time for a group. Walking up on a Saturday rarely works, and a cabana gives you shade, a base, and a tab to split.
Desert Adventures
For a daytime activity that is not golf, the desert delivers. Popular options include guided ATV and UTV rides through the Sonoran Desert, a morning hot-air balloon ride, and the Scottsdale Gun Club for a range session.
In warmer months, a Salt River tubing float is the classic low-effort group day. Bring a cooler and a waterproof bag.
Old Town Nightlife
At night everyone heads to Old Town, where you can walk between dozens of bars and clubs without a rideshare. The heavy hitters are Bottled Blonde, Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row, El Hefe, and Riot House for a high-energy dance floor with bottle service.
Most clubs here do table minimums on weekends. For a group of eight or more, a table is often cheaper per head than paying covers and fighting for the bar, and it gives the groom a home base.
Where to Stay
Two paths work. Book a large pool home through a rental platform if you want a private base for grilling, cards, and pre-gaming, or stay at an Old Town hotel so you can walk home from the bars.
Groups that golf and pool-party usually prefer a resort with its own pool. Groups that prioritize nightlife should stay walkable to Old Town.
A Sample Weekend
Friday: arrive, settle in, dinner in Old Town, and an easy first night out. Saturday: morning tee time or ATV ride, afternoon dayclub, big night out with a club table. Sunday: recovery brunch, Topgolf or a pool, fly out Monday or late Sunday.
Planning Notes
- Book golf tee times and dayclub cabanas weeks ahead. The best slots go first on weekends.
- Build in shade and water. Even in spring the afternoon sun is no joke.
- Assign one person to hold the club table reservation and collect the deposit early.
