Lake Tahoe Bachelor 3-Day Itinerary
| Quick Summary | |
|---|---|
| Best for | A winter ski and casino weekend for the groom's crew |
| Budget range | $500 to $900 per person for 3 days including lift tickets |
| Must-book | Lift tickets, your house, one nightclub table or entry |
Day 1: Arrive and Get Oriented
Morning
Fly into Reno-Tahoe and drive the roughly hour to South Lake Tahoe, or fly direct if your airport code supports it. Check into your house and get groceries for the weekend since South Shore restaurants fill up fast on weekend nights.
Afternoon
If you land early enough, grab a half day at Heavenly Mountain Resort. Lift tickets are dynamically priced and climb fast closer to the date, so buy online in advance rather than at the window.
Evening
Head to the casino corridor at Stateline. Grab dinner, then walk the floor at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Lake Tahoe or Harrah's before deciding where to spend the rest of the night.
Day 2: Full Mountain Day
Morning
Get an early start at Heavenly. It's the largest resort on the South Shore and gives you runs on both the California and Nevada sides of the mountain.
Afternoon
Keep skiing or snowboarding through the afternoon, then head back for apres-ski at the house. A hot tub after a full day on the mountain is worth building into your house search.
Evening
This is your big night out. Vinyl at the Hard Rock is the largest music venue on property and books live acts and comedians, while PEEK Nightclub at Harrah's runs a more traditional club night with national touring DJs. Pick one and get there before midnight if you want a table.
Day 3: Slow Morning, Easy Exit
Morning
If anyone's up for it and the weather holds, hike out to Eagle Falls and Emerald Bay for the view before you head home. It's a short, scenic hike rather than a full outing, which suits a group running on a few hours of sleep.
Afternoon
Grab lunch and a coffee in South Lake Tahoe before your drive or flight out. Leave buffer time since Sunday traffic out of Tahoe on ski weekends can be slow.

Good to Know
- This itinerary is built around a winter trip. In summer, swap the ski days for hiking Emerald Bay, a boat charter on the lake, or a round of golf in Incline Village.
- Book lift tickets and your house well before a holiday weekend. Presidents Day and MLK weekends sell out fastest.
- Not everyone needs to ski every run together. Splitting into a ski group and a casino or spa group for part of the day keeps everyone happy.
