Key West Bachelor Party: 3-Day Itinerary
Quick Summary
Best forSmall to mid size groups who want island energy without a flight to the Caribbean
Budget range$500 to $900 per person for the weekend
Don't missA sunset cruise on day one, a fishing charter on day two, and the Duval Street bar crawl at some point in between

Why Key West for a Bachelor Weekend

Key West feels like a beach vacation and a bar crawl had a baby. Everything is walkable, the drinking culture is loud but not exclusive, and the fishing here is some of the best in the country. It's a strong pick for a group that wants water activities during the day and doesn't need bottle service to have fun at night.

This plan assumes a Friday arrival and Sunday or Monday departure for a group of 6 to 10.

Day 1: Arrival and Sunset

Morning

Fly into Key West or Miami and drive down the Overseas Highway if your group wants the drive itself to be part of the trip. Check into your rental, ideally within walking distance of Duval Street.

Afternoon

Settle in and grab lunch at a casual spot near the water. Keep the afternoon easy, the first night out runs late.

Evening

Book a sunset cruise leaving near Mallory Square. Most run 90 minutes to 2 hours and include drinks, and watching the sunset from the water is one of the better group activities in Key West that isn't a bar.

After the cruise, start the Duval Street crawl. Sloppy Joe's is the famous stop, tied to Hemingway's old drinking days, though it leans touristy and gets packed after dark. If your group wants a spot with more locals, The Green Parrot a few blocks off the main strip has live music and one of the better jukeboxes on the island.

Day 2: Fishing and Recovery

Morning

Book a fishing charter for the group. Key West charters target tarpon, shark, and marlin depending on the season, and a private half day boat runs $700 to $1,000 split across the group.

Afternoon

Recover with a slow lunch and beach time. Smathers Beach or a pool at your rental works fine for a few hours of downtime before round two.

Evening

Head to Rick's Bar Complex for a multi-level bar experience that's built for groups, with several bars stacked on top of each other and a rooftop area. It's an easy place to end up for most of the night without needing to plan much.

Day 3: Slow Morning, Easy Exit

Morning

Brunch somewhere near the water, then a walk through Mallory Square if anyone wants to see it in daylight instead of at sunset.

Afternoon

Pack up and head to the airport, or extend the drive back up the Keys if a few guys want to stretch the trip an extra day.

Planning Tips

  • Book the fishing charter and sunset cruise a few weeks out. Weekend slots go fast, especially in peak season from December through April.
  • Key West is small and rentals fill up early for weekends near holidays. Lock in your house or condo as soon as your dates are set.
  • Rideshares are limited on the island. Most of what you need is walkable from a Duval Street area rental, which is worth the higher price over staying further out.
  • Hurricane season runs June through November. If you're booking a summer or fall date, buy travel insurance in case of a storm.
