Why Brickell for a Bachelorette

Brickell is what happens when a financial district decides to throw a party. It is the most dressed-up neighborhood in Miami, with glass towers, rooftop bars, and the kind of restaurants that take reservations six weeks out.

If your group includes the friend who works in finance, the friend who wants skyline photos, and the bride who said "no beach", this is your neighborhood. You will spend less time in a car than you would staying in South Beach, and the Ubers to Wynwood or the marina are short.

Where to Eat and Drink

Komodo

Best for: The Saturday night dinner everyone remembers | Price: $90 to $150 per person

Three stories of Southeast Asian dining that turns into a club around 10 p.m. Order the Peking Duck at $68 (serves 2) and the rock shrimp tempura at $26.

"Dinner at Komodo is basically a show. We went in for sushi and left after two hours of dancing at our table." (Reddit, r/Miami)

Sexy Fish

Best for: Cocktail-forward groups | Price: $100 to $175 per person

Damien Hirst designed the interior. The cocktails are the draw, especially the Tokyo Smoke at $22 (mezcal and yuzu).

The sashimi platter at $64 is the table order and lives up to the hype. Request a booth when you book.

Sugar (at EAST Miami)

Best for: Sunset rooftop session | Price: $18 to $30 for cocktails

The highest rooftop bar in Miami, with 360 degree views over Biscayne Bay. The Asian tapas menu is not the reason you come, but the dragonfruit mojito at $19 and the sunset over the bay absolutely are.

"Best rooftop in Miami for sunset. Get there at 6 p.m. sharp and sit on the east side for the bay views." (Google Review)

Bazaar Mar by José Andrés

Best for: Bride brunch | Price: $65 to $100 per person

The Philippe Starck-designed room inside SLS Brickell. Order the brown butter waffle at $24 and the caviar tater tots at $30.

This is the Instagram brunch of Brickell, and the bottomless mimosas are actually worth the $45.

Barsecco

Best for: Pre-dinner cocktails and a DJ | Price: $16 to $22 for cocktails

Bright and airy at brunch, a full lounge with a DJ by 10 p.m. The aperol cart service at the table is the gimmick your group will keep texting about.

Blue Martini Brickell

Best for: A dance-heavy Saturday night with zero pretension | Price: $15 cover, $18 cocktails

The Brickell classic. If your group wants a night of cover bands and dancing without a club door, this is the play.

"We were a bach group of 12 and Blue Martini was the only place all night where we could actually dance together without being split up." (Google Review)

A Perfect Brickell Day

10 a.m.: Brunch at Bazaar Mar. Wear the white outfit.

1 p.m.: Walk to Brickell City Centre for shopping or the spa at SLS.

5 p.m.: Sunset at Sugar. Order a round of mojitos and force everyone to put their phones down for at least one toast.

8 p.m.: Dinner at Komodo. Make the 10:30 p.m. reservation so you are there when the DJ starts.

11:30 p.m.: Walk to Barsecco for the after-dinner dance floor. Or Uber 12 minutes to E11EVEN if the group has the energy.

Where to Stay

SLS Brickell: Philippe Starck rooms, Bazaar Mar on property, infinity pool on the 8th floor. Expect $350 to $550 a night.

EAST Miami: Sugar rooftop bar is in the building. Rooms are around $300 to $450 and the pool scene on Saturday is its own event.

Airbnb/VRBO: Brickell Heights and Brickell Flatiron have 2 and 3-bedroom units that sleep 8 to 10. Cheaper per person than hotel rooms if your group is 8 or more.

Planning Tips

  • Brickell is 15 minutes from South Beach without traffic and 40 minutes during rush hour. Plan your Ubers around 5 to 7 p.m.
  • Reserve Komodo and Sexy Fish at least 4 weeks out. For prime Saturday slots, 6 weeks.
  • Dress codes are enforced. No athleisure, no flip-flops, and most rooftops want collared shirts for men.
  • For large groups (10+), ask every restaurant about the private room or chef''s table. Komodo has a VIP room that books for around $250 per person food and beverage minimum.
  • The Brickell Metromover is free and actually useful for getting between bars inside the neighborhood.

Brickell is the grown-up Miami bachelorette. Less sand, more skyline, and the kind of weekend your bride will still be talking about a year later.
