Why Scottsdale for a Rooftop Bach

Scottsdale is built for rooftop drinking. The city sits at 1,200 feet with desert air that cools off after sunset, and the Camelback Mountain backdrop turns pink and orange around 7 p.m. most of the year.

You also get walkable Old Town. Most of the rooftops on this list are within a 10-minute stroll of each other, which is a gift when your group is in heels.

The Best Rooftop Bars

Outrider Rooftop Lounge

Best for: Sunset and the welcome cocktail | Price: $14 to $18 cocktails

Outrider sits on the 7th floor of the Canopy by Hilton in Old Town and has the highest open-air vantage point in the walkable district. The Camelback Mountain views are the entire reason you book this spot, so reserve a cabana for sunset and arrive 30 minutes early.

Order this: The Desert Sunset cocktail at $16, plus the wood-fired flatbread at $19.

"High-energy DJ sets and handcrafted cocktails created an unforgettable experience. The view at golden hour is unreal." Google Review

Allegra at The REMI Hotel

Best for: Photo backdrops and the Moroccan-inspired aesthetic | Price: $18 to $22 cocktails

Allegra is on the 12th floor and gives you nearly 360 degrees of desert and city. The Moroccan tile work and turquoise pool lights make this the most photogenic rooftop in town.

Cabana minimums on Friday and Saturday nights run around $1,500 for a group of 8 to 10. Splitting it works out to roughly $150 per person and gets you a dedicated spot with bottle service.

Order this: The Pomegranate Spritz at $19, and the hummus trio at $22.

"Stunning views and the pool deck is gorgeous at sunset. Worth every penny if you can split the cabana." Google Review

Cottontail Lounge at W Scottsdale

Best for: Pool party energy and bottle service | Price: Day pass around $40, bottle service from $700

The W Scottsdale rooftop runs daytime pool parties at the WET Deck and turns into Cottontail Lounge with DJs at night. This is your Vegas-style afternoon if your bride wants dancing in a swimsuit.

Book your cabana at least 4 weeks out for Saturdays in the high season, which runs October through April.

Order this: The Bach in Bloom shareable punch at $85 serves 4.

"Best pool party we have done outside of Vegas. The DJ kept it going from noon to 5 and the staff was amazing." Reddit

Bottled Blonde

Best for: Late-night dancing without a cover | Price: $14 cocktails, no minimum at the bar

Bottled Blonde is more sports-bar-meets-club than chic rooftop, but it has a rooftop patio that overlooks Old Town and stays loud until 2 a.m. Pizzas come in 28-inch sizes that feed 6.

Order this: The 28-inch Margherita at $42, split across the table.

Canopy Rooftop

Best for: A quieter sunset before dinner | Price: $14 to $18 cocktails

If you want golden hour without the bottle-service energy, the smaller Canopy rooftop on the 7th floor is your spot. Walk-ins are usually fine before 6 p.m.

Maya Day + Nightclub

Best for: A pool day with a real DJ lineup | Price: Day pass $30 to $60

Maya is technically more dayclub than rooftop, but the elevated cabana deck overlooks the pool and has the same view-and-bottle-service combo. Saturdays during festival season pull in nationally touring DJs.

Planning Tips

  • Reserve cabanas at least 3 to 4 weeks out for any Saturday between October and April. The high season is no joke.
  • Old Town is walkable, so build a 2 or 3 stop rooftop crawl rather than picking just one. Outrider for sunset, Allegra for cocktails, Cottontail or Bottled Blonde for dancing is the classic.
  • Hydrate. Scottsdale summers are 100 plus and even the spring nights are dry. Order a water with every cocktail.
  • Most Old Town rooftops stop letting groups larger than 6 walk in after 9 p.m. on weekends. Call ahead if you are 8 or more.
