Scottsdale dinner prices are not friendly to a group of twelve. Happy hour is, and Old Town runs some of the deepest daily deals of any bach destination in the country.

Most windows land between 3pm and 6:30pm, which is exactly when your group is coming off a pool day and needs food before anyone opens a tab at a nightclub.

Play it right and you have fed everyone, gotten two rounds in, and spent less than one entree would have cost at 8pm. That is the whole strategy.

The Best Happy Hours

Cien Agaves Tacos and Tequila

Best for: The first stop, every time | Price: $3 to $12 per item

Cien Agaves gets voted onto every Scottsdale happy hour list and it earns it. Daily from 3pm to 6pm you get $3 tinga tacos, $6 select appetizers, and savings on margaritas, Estrella Jalisco, and wine by the glass.

Head upstairs to the patios. The Old Town views make it the best photo stop of the afternoon, and the upstairs space absorbs a large group better than the main floor.

Order this: A round of tinga tacos at $3 each and a house margarita. Twelve people can eat here for under $25 a head.

Diego Pops

Best for: Groups that want a patio and a scene | Price: $8 to $18 per item

Diego Pops on North Scottsdale Road does modern Mexican with an extended outdoor patio, which is what you want in October and March. It is bright, loud, and built for a group that plans to take pictures.

The brussels sprout nachos are the signature and they travel well across a table of ten people picking at everything.

Order this: Brussels sprout nachos to share and the house margarita.

EVO Old Town

Best for: Late arrivals and late-night second dinner | Price: $5 to $15 per item

EVO runs happy hour 4pm to 6pm daily with $5 select beers and well spirits and $6 wine or sangria. The real value is the back end: they serve food until 1:30am daily.

That makes EVO a two-visit restaurant on a bachelorette weekend. Come for the deal at 5pm, come back at midnight when somebody needs pizza.

Order this: Margherita pizza at $14 or the EVO meatballs at $15, split across the table.

Fat Ox

Best for: The one nice stop | Price: $5 to $12 per item at the bar

Fat Ox is modern Italian and considerably more polished than the rest of this list. Their Aperitivo Hour runs 4:30pm to 6:30pm daily at the bar only, with $12 craft cocktails including the Mint Gimlet and Aperol Spritz, $9 select wines and sangria, and $5 to $6 select beer.

Bar only is the operative phrase. This is a stop for six or fewer, not your full group of fourteen.

Order this: The Aperol Spritz at $12 and whatever pasta the bartender points at.

Hula's Modern Tiki

Best for: A theme night that writes itself | Price: $8 cocktails on happy hour

Hula's sits at 7213 E First Ave in the middle of Old Town and leans all the way into island-style. Their Mai Tai starts at $8 on happy hour, which is roughly half what a comparable drink costs three blocks away.

The room is small and colorful, which is a plus for photos and a minus for a group over ten. Split up or go early.

Order this: The Mai Tai at $8 and an order of the pupu-style shareables.

The Mission Old Town

Best for: Tableside guacamole and a dark, date-night room | Price: $10 to $20 per item

The Mission does upscale Latin in a low-lit room off the main Old Town drag. The bar area is first-come, which is either an advantage or a problem depending on how organized your group is.

Send two people ahead at 4:45pm to hold bar space. It works more often than it does not.

Order this: Tableside guacamole and a mezcal cocktail.

ZuZu at Hotel Valley Ho

Best for: Poolside-adjacent afternoons and mid-century photos | Price: $6 to $12 per item

ZuZu runs happy hour Monday through Thursday from 4pm to 6pm with $7 to $12 bites and $6 to $8 drinks. If your bachelorette lands on a weekday this is the best value in the city.

Hotel Valley Ho is also a strong lodging pick, so if your group is staying here the walk home is about forty feet.

Order this: Moroccan hummus, blistered romanesco cauliflower, and the Ho Ho wings.

Planning Tips

• Most Old Town happy hours run 3pm to 6pm or 4pm to 6pm. Build your afternoon backward from a 6pm cutoff.
• Call ahead for any group over eight. Several of these deals are bar-only, and a bar cannot seat fourteen.
• Split into two groups of six rather than fighting for one table of twelve. You will get seated faster and spend less.
• Weekday happy hours are deeper than weekend ones. A Thursday arrival saves real money over a Friday arrival.
• Old Town is walkable end to end, so plan two or three stops and skip rideshare entirely between 4pm and 8pm.
• Ask whether happy hour pricing applies to the patio. At some spots it does not.
