What You Actually Need

Most bachelorette decoration lists are 40 items long and you will use 12 of them. The five categories that actually matter for the photos and the vibe are: a backdrop, a balloon arch or set, sashes for the group, a bride sash or veil, and a Saturday morning surprise for the bride.

That is it. Skip the streamers, skip the door curtain, and skip the photo props that no one will pick up.

The Backdrop

Get one good photo backdrop. It pulls double duty as your welcome bag photo, your champagne photo, and the bride gift opening photo.

xo Fetti has tasteful neutral foil backdrops in the $30 to $50 range. Etsy is where you go for personalized "Last Disco for [Bride Name]" or destination-specific designs that take 2 to 3 weeks to ship.

Balloons

You want one of two balloon setups: an organic balloon garland (looks high-end, takes 90 minutes to assemble) or a giant marquee letter set spelling BRIDE or her initials.

House of Bachelorette sells pre-coordinated garland kits in 6 colorways for around $50. Amazon Soonbam and PartyWoo brands are reliable for the same product at a lower price.

Pro tip. Buy a $12 balloon pump on Amazon. Mouth-pumping 80 balloons is a punishment.

Sashes and Veils

House of Bachelorette has the cleanest sashes for the bride and the team. Order a Bride sash for the bride and matching Bridesmaid or Bach Babe sashes for the rest of the group.

Bride veils are polarizing. Some brides love the kitsch, some refuse to wear them. Ask first. A pearl-trimmed bride veil is a classier alternative if the bride says no to a feather one.

Welcome Bags

This is where decoration becomes thoughtful. Each bag should have a hangover kit (Pedialyte packet, Tylenol, sunscreen), a custom matching tee or tank, a personalized koozie, and a small treat.

Custom matching tees through Stag and Hen or Etsy run $20 to $35 each. Order 2 weeks out and confirm sizes from each guest at booking.

The Saturday Morning Surprise

While the bride is in the shower, set up the dining table or a counter with the balloon garland, the backdrop, the sashes laid out, and breakfast (mimosas, croissants, fruit). When she comes out, that is the moment.

This is the single best decoration moment of the whole weekend and it costs nothing extra if you already have the items above.

Theme-Specific Add-Ons

Disco theme. A small disco ball for the table (Amazon, $15) and metallic fringe streamers.

Beach or Tropical. Inflatable palm trees and a flamingo bride float for the pool.

Western or Nashville. Cowgirl hats from Stag and Hen for the group, plus a cowhide table runner.

Final Fiesta. Mini sombreros, maracas, and a serape table runner.

Final Tips

  • Order Etsy items 4 weeks out. Anything custom needs that runway.
  • Pack decorations in a separate carry-on. Checked bags get lost and balloons get crushed.
  • Assign one person (not the bride) to handle Saturday morning setup so the surprise actually surprises.
  • Take the photo at the backdrop within the first 2 hours of arrival, before anyone is sweaty or has changed.
