Why Asheville for a Bachelorette

Asheville has more breweries per capita than any other city in the US, a real spa scene, and Blue Ridge Mountain views from almost every neighborhood. It is a chill weekend with just enough nightlife.

This is the right pick for a bride who wants a beautiful trip without the chaos of Nashville or Vegas. Bring layers, even in summer.

Day 1: Friday Arrive, Eat, Drink Local

Afternoon

Most groups land at AVL by 3pm. Check into your downtown rental or the Foundry Hotel in the South Slope and walk to lunch.

Grab a late lunch at White Duck Taco Shop. Tacos run $4 to $6 each and the patio fits a group of 12 with no reservation. Order the bangkok shrimp and the sweet potato.

Evening

South Slope is the brewery district. Walk between three spots in two hours. Start at Burial Beer Co., move to Green Man Brewery, finish at Wicked Weed.

Each pour runs $7 to $9. A flight of four is around $14. Budget $40 per person for the brewery crawl.

Dinner at Cúrate if you can book it. Spanish tapas, candlelight, the kind of dinner the bride will remember. Reservations open 30 days out and they go fast.

Late Night

If the group still has energy, walk to The Crow and Quill, a literary speakeasy with a no-photos rule that everyone breaks anyway. Cocktails are $14.

Day 2: Saturday The Big Day

Morning

Brunch at Early Girl Eatery. Get there at 9am sharp or expect a 60 minute wait. Order the sweet potato pancakes at $13 and the country ham biscuit at $11.

Bottomless mimosas are $18 per person.

Late Morning

Hike to Triple Falls in DuPont State Forest. The trail is a 3 mile loop with payoff waterfalls every 20 minutes. Wear real shoes, not slides.

This is the photo set the bride will use. Bring a sash or a "Bride to Be" hat for the falls shot.

Afternoon

Back in town by 2pm. Two hours at Sauna House in the River Arts District. You rotate hot sauna, cold plunge, and outdoor lounge. Sessions are $45 per person on weekends.

This is the part of the trip where the group settles down. Order rosé to your lounge chair.

Evening

Dinner at Benne on Eagle, an Appalachian soul food spot in The Foundry. The whole table will be talking about the catfish and grits at $32.

After dinner, walk to The Foundation for live music and craft cocktails. If the bride wants dancing, taxi to Eulogy on Lexington.

"Sauna House on Saturday afternoon was the move. Half the group was hungover and they came out of there ready to rally for dinner." Reddit r/asheville

Day 3: Sunday Slow and Beautiful

Morning

Late brunch at Sunny Point Cafe in West Asheville. Bloody marys are $12 and the huevos rancheros are $16. The patio is the move.

Afternoon

Drive 15 minutes to the Biltmore Estate. Day passes are $89 per person and worth it for the gardens and the winery tasting included.

If the group is wiped, skip the Biltmore and do the Blue Ridge Parkway overlook drive instead. Free, 90 minutes, mountain photos.

Evening

Group splits to flights or one last dinner. Buns of Steel for a casual close out, or Storm if anyone is still drinking rum.

Budget Breakdown

CategoryPer person
Lodging (3 nights, split 8 ways)$240
Food and drink$320
Activities (Sauna House, Biltmore, hike fees)$160
Transit and Ubers$60
Total$780

Booking Notes

  • Cúrate, Benne on Eagle, and Sauna House all need to be booked at least 3 weeks out.
  • Sunny Point and Early Girl do not take Saturday or Sunday reservations. Plan for the wait.
  • For lodging, look at VRBO houses in Montford or West Asheville. They sleep 8 to 12 and run $400 to $700 a night.
  • If anyone in the group does not drink, the spa and hike days still hold up. Asheville is a good non-drinking bachelorette destination too.
